Muhammad Maqbool is a qualified Chartered Accountant from England & Wales, Canada and Pakistan. He also graduated as Master of Commerce from University of Punjab in 1979. He has been Senior partner in Qamar-ul-Islam & Co., and Sidat Hyder Qamar Maqbool & Company (Chartered Accountants) Representating Aurther Anderson one of the big accountancy firms in the world.

He has 22 years accountancy experience in the field of Financial Consultancy, System Consultancy, Audit, Corporate and Taxation matters. He has rich experience of handling a large number of national and international consultancy assignments.

Professional Experience

• Worked as "Financial Advisor" to Privatization Board of Punjab in the privatization of government owned three sugar mills
• Worked as "Financial advisor" to Privatization Commission, Pakistan in the Privatization of Pakistan Engineering Company Limited (PECO) and Pak Arab Fertilizers (Pvt.) Limited
• Worked as team member of CIE Consult of Republic of Ireland, engaged to undertake corporatization of different business units of Pakistan Railways and to provide accounting support in connection with bifurcation of its accounts into different business units. The assignment included the orientation of 500 staff members of Pakistan Railways about the changed accounting system
• Worked as Consultants to assists the Task Manager in supervising and implementing the accounting assistance and financial management improvement components of Transport Sector Project of World Bank Resident Commission in Pakistan
• Worked as Consultants to the World Bank to assist Task manager in implementing the new Loan Administrative Initiative of World Bank
• Worked as Financial Advisor to Auditor General of Pakistan in reviewing the work of Technical Consultants for identifying assets of Pakistan telecommunication Corporation and determining the historical value thereof for the transfer of assets and liabilities from Telegraph and telephone Department to newly establish corporation;
• Worked as team leader on the component of " the study and restructuring of benefit package" in the World bank's Assignment titled " Man Power of Water and Power development Authority (WAPDA)
• Monitored and supervised the statutory audit, internal audit and special audit assignments of various nature of clients;
• Advising clients on matters connected with Accounts, Taxation, Corporation, Finance, Investments and other business related matters on day to day basis
• Preparing the proposal for financial restructuring of sick industrial units;
