Mr. Shahid Mehmood Shaker, ACA

Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

He qualified as Chartered Accountant in June 2003 and became member of the institute in August 2003. He also qualified his MBA in finance in the year 1999. Before, he did his FSc in 1995 with second position in Faisalabad Board and graduated as Bachelor of Commerce from University of Punjab in 1997.

He worked in the capacity of partner in Qadeer and Company, Chartered Accountants for four and half years (from February 2005 - September 2009). He also worked as CFO in Ayesha Textile Mills Limited (among the larger textile units listed on Stock Exchanges) for two and half years (from September 2002 - February 2005).

He has 5 years experience in the field of Consultancy especially Audit, System development and System Evaluation assignments. He has rich experience of handling a large number of national and international consultancy assignments.

Audit

Very rich experience of conducting various assignments in internal audit section specially assignments relating to Financial Institutions, Textile processing units, Textile spinning and weaving units, Construction companies, Steel Sector, Leather Sector, Rice Sector, Sugar, Power Sector, Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing and Domestic Appliances, NGOs and associations, Trading companies etc.

Internal Audit and System evaluation

Four and half years experience of internal audit and system evaluation of following sectors.

• Financial Institutions
• Sugar
• Textile
• Electronics
• Power

Sales Tax and other related laws

• Post return presentation before sales tax department and handling of sales tax refund cases
• Preparation and filing of reply to show cause notices of auditors and adjudicating authorities.
• Preparation and filing of appeals and presentation before Collector of sales tax (Appeals) and Customs, Excise and Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal
• Preparation of tax advices on the sales tax issues
• Tax counseling to clients on the preparation of sales tax record and tax returns

Corporate law advisory work

He is presently also assigned the task to prepare opinions on different aspects of corporate laws and foreign currency exchange control regulations. During his training tenure, he spent six months in the corporate compliance department and gained the experience of handling following corporate affairs:

• Representation before corporate and regulatory agencies including Corporate Law Authority, Registrar of companies, Registrar of firms and Registrar of Trusts
• Secretarial and Corporate compliance services under Companies Ordinance, 1984
• Documentation for partnerships and preparation of minutes of the meeting
